Hello,
Now that the flu and a sense of dire death feeling has the left the building;
Some of the frustration of the last two posts steams from some emails and comments from things I have written. It’s hard to understand others perspectives when they leave no room for a conversation.
I have been working non-stop on quite a few different projects. A couple of these projects have over 100 .as and .mxml files. I have components and other things I am working on.
With a technology as new as Flex2 that is not even released to the public, would you start spouting off about how to develop something in the framework and release that ’semi-accurate’ information to 1000’s of people ready to emulate anything they see?
I won’t and haven’t. So for those of you that wonder, why all I am doing right now is talking about components and the projects I am working on relative to actually giving good advice, tricks and tips, be reminded that I am learning and finding the best way that I do things.
Of course I want to share algorithms I have found useful for cross container application drag and drop etc.; but I am still working out my projects kinks. I totally think it would be self defeating to release tutorials and the like on component development (advanced) when I have a bunch of projects I am debugging and finishing up.
So, the last two posts stem from a frustration of knowing I have a lot to offer the community and said I would but, on the other hand just can’t release anything right now because it is premature.
I am a very direct person. If anybody knows someone like me
, you know that I am sincere and just aggravated about getting emails about pimping my web site, unable to answer questions and not fulfilling my ‘freeness to the community’ that I said I am going to do.
The posts in the next two months will be articles I have written about OOP design patterns and where I am using them in my current UI framework designs.
Also, about UI design patterns another fascinating and growing facet of the new RIA world.
PS If I have released products, look for tutorials and examples, that is the time I will feel confident about the way ‘Mike’ does it.
Peace, Mike
